Remote Diagnosis & Workshop Repair Support

About Paul Betteridge

"I believe in a time when technology was built to last, and if it broke, you took it to an expert who cared. That's how I run iFixTech."

I'm Paul, the face and the technician behind iFixTech. I started this business because I saw a gap in the local market for a computer repair technician who provides a truly personal, expert-led service combining hardware diagnostics and real coding depth.

My technical journey began with formal studies in Software Development and Computing at college, followed by graduating with a degree in Electronic Systems Design at university. This deep combination of software logic and hardware-level design laid the foundation for everything I do today.

Directly out of university, I started my professional career as a commercial software developer, architecting complex database backends, application pipelines, and high-performance websites. It was logic-oriented work that required absolute attention to detail.

After gaining extensive industry experience, I decided to work for myself 20 years ago—taking that deep programming and problem-solving expertise to build a custom workshop service, which eventually grew into iFixTech.

Today, I operate from my workshop in Poole, focusing purely on what I do best: bespoke software development, web applications, and solving complex hardware repairs other shops write off as "unfixable."

My Expertise

With 30 years of digital development and 20+ years of electronic bench diagnostics, I offer a unique full-stack diagnostic capability. Over the years, I've specialised in high-end repairs, with a specific focus on **Apple MacBook and iMac diagnostics**. Being an **Apple Independent Repair Provider** means I have access to specialised resources, but I maintain the flexibility of an independent business.

When you bring your computer to me, you're not dealing with a seasonal employee or a call centre. You're dealing with me, Paul Betteridge. I'll be the one opening your laptop, I'll be the one calling you with the diagnostic results, and I'll be the one testing it to ensure it's perfect before it leaves my workshop.

Scouting Values

Integrity, respect, care, and belief are core to how I operate. I believe in being prepared and helping my local community.

Values I Live By

My business philosophy is built on a foundation of integrity and community service. Outside of technology, I have been a dedicated Scout Leader for many years, and I bring those same core values—respect, care, and being prepared—to every repair at my workshop. When I fix your computer, I treat it with the same precision and attention I'd give to any high-stakes project.
